The SAME sign on... What about Disney's decision to make a movie about a "strange behaviour" White VolksWagen (1968)?

Well Nic, I thought long and hard about that figurine... My best guess was a Queen's (Tower of London) Guard and guardhouse.. However I'm interested in the California/Beatle/beetle connection..

Lightning bolts are symbolic of satan, because he fell from the heavens like a bolt of lightning.

"After a twelve year absence, Jim Douglas makes a return to the racetrack. He enters Herbie in the Trans France race from Paris to Monte Carlo. But there Herbie falls in love with the Lancia (italian automotive brand) named Giselle that is driven by fellow racer Diane Darcy. Meanwhile two thieves fleeing from the police place a stolen diamond inside Herbie’s petrol tank and are determined to get it back at all costs." Yesterday I saw the movie on TV. Tons of references about Paul and Brian being in France on September 1966.... Compare the film with Magical Mystery Tour Marathon sequence... There was a BLACK car with the number "66" on... Don Knotts (called "Wheely Applegate" in the film)

Isn't that something... The Apple Dumpling Gang Strikes again.. Nic, you and Perplexed have encouraged me to look deeper at the connections between the Beatles and California. My side glancing radar tells me closer to Sacramento.. Was Brian Epstein The Reluctant Astronaut..? Not Paul?

Detailed close ups. Nothing to add to what previously told. About the ear? Clearly a make-up

"He enters Herbie in the Trans France race from Paris to Monte Carlo. But there Herbie falls in love with the Lancia (italian automotive brand) named Giselle"...or it was from Monaco-MonteCarlo (very close to Nice) to Paris and toward Dover then? It would be interesting to "enlarge" that animation to see the other "areas" involved. Crazy hypothesis: "Gisellle" was Maritza Sannia (the first "Fylvie") Paul had a confrontation with Hallyday and killed the French guy. He was wounded too and escaped by feet from the hill (near Nice/Monaco-Monte Carlo) until the sea (Nice) Brian went to help Paul and ... the rest we already know. There is Don Knotts in the left part near the orizon line...

If I didn't know any better, I'd think you have gone mad thinking Don Knotts in the PID conspiracy, but nothing, absolutely nothing would surprise me at the extent to play the public's minds.
One bullet Barney....Brian Epstein....change the hairstyle, make up, different styles of clothing...although Don kept the Brian wardrobe for his Mr. Farley days on Three's Company....
Interesting post.

I kinda thought #20 looks like Larry King.
I find it interesting #13, a pic of his fake ear is part of this collage...The more I read about this imposter the more I despise him and his "music".

Why did Don Knotts leave the hit show The Andy Griffith Show" in 1966 just before it went colour? Well, now we know, he had another role to play. It's so crazy and out-there that someone like Don Knotts would replace Brian Epstein which is why they could get away with it. The Andy Griffith Show was never as good without him.
But...what about the theory that Nat Jackley took the role of Frian?

i have learned the hard way not to say "NAW, that's too crazy" but.....
naw, that's too crazy. ;D
does anyone recollect hearing frian speak? it would not be easy to mask a southern drawl like he has.

Crazy, zany, madcap.... Isn't a sentient car a bit nutty ?
Secret messages hidden in inconsequential kids shows... Why not? If we (society at large) think its too nutty, too farfetched, then they are safe, free to communicate openly and in plain sight.
These blind spots in human nature are repeatably exploitable.

With some changes in hair style and the more flamboyand wardrobe to fit Brian Epstein (much like the clothes he wore as Mr. Farley in Three's Company), Don fits the part.
I was looking on this thread, maybe it was on another forum, where someone had posted since Don replaced Brian, did Andy Griffith sing Lady Madonna. No, but another citizen of Mayberry did, Jim"Gomer Pyle" Nabors....Put him in a studio with rock music soundtrack, and Gomer sang Lady Madonna, Why Don't We Do It In the Road? and Back In The USSR. Think about it.....And he has a long face like Faul/Billy...perhaps in distance shots he filled in for Billy.

The Andy Griffith Show ran from 1960-1968, but Don left in 1965. As the story goes, Andy originally planned to do the show for just 5 years. When Don's contract with the show ended in 1965, he signed a deal with Universal Pictures hoping to pursue a film career. Andy then changed his mind and decided to continue the show a few more years, but Don was already tied up with his new film contract and couldn't continue as a regular on the show. It is unbelievable that Andy and the producers would have let Don go his own way because of a simple misunderstanding. Don did make a few guest appearances in 1966-67 but the show never recovered from the loss of his character. www.jumptheshark.com/a/andygriffith.htmThe explanation given for Barney's absence was that he left Mayberry to join the police force in Raleigh, NC. Andy Griffith started out in life wanting to be a minister. In college he decided to study music instead, and began his career as an actor. For seven years he played the role of Sir Walter Raleigh (with a British accent) in the drama, The Lost Colony. Andy's break into television was met with some skepticism, as his acting was a little wooden, but the chemistry between Andy and Don Knotts was pure magic. Andy used his show to demonstrate Christian values and in recent years some churches have focused their Sunday school teachings on Andy's small-town parables. Funny, considering that the show's writers and producers were Jewish. There were also occasional references to masons and lodge memberships - both held in high esteem by Andy. The show never dealt with the reality of the world as it was changing in the 1960's. Mayberry was untouched by assasinations, protests, riots, and rock concerts. Outsiders were generally portrayed as bizarre in contrast to the "normal" townsfolk. Would The Beatles be welcome in Mayberry? Maybe the lodge could take a vote... Episode 192: "THE LODGE" Original Air Date: 09-19-66. Howard Sprague attempts to join the Mayberry Lodge. I found an interesting note about the Andy Griffith reunion special that aired in Nov. 2003:

"Opie Flunks Arithmetic" aired on April 19, 1965 This was Don's last appearance as a regular on The Andy Griffith Show. There were two more episodes without Don before the season actually ended. Does anyone know what day this episode was filmed? Andy's entire mood changed after Don left. He lost his easy-going, laughing good ol' boy attitude and became stern, irritable and impatient. Was this because of an intentional change in the show's writing, poor relations within the cast, or he was just angry? All of the above? Don made a few guest appearances on the show after officially leaving. All airing in January, why? Work done on vacation from his "other" job? The Return of Barney Fife (10 January 1966) - Barney Fife The Legend of Barney Fife (17 January 1966) - Barney Fife A Visit to Barney Fife (16 January 1967) - Barney Fife Barney Comes to Mayberry (23 January 1967) - Barney Fife Barney Hosts a Summit Meeting (29 January 1968) - Barney Fife www.imdb.com/name/nm0461455/filmoseries#tt0053479
