BTW--WHen John is away from home in fall of '66...Why doesn't John's wife think enough of him to visit him? A man leaves for 9 weeks to go make a movie abroad, and his wife never comes to see him, but a business aide and a couple of band members make him leave the shoot and take a train hours and hours to Paris. Nooo...it's a little-mentioned fact but Cynthia did go to visit John in Almeria, along with Ringo and Maureen. See this thread: 1966.proboards40.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1108948200What happened on that visit is interesting: Cynthia says they felt a strange presence at their residence. I have always wondered if Cynthia really knows the truth. I think it's quite possible that she does not. Well if George was waiting on Paul and Brian to arrive...where? In India? If Paul and Brian were travelling together on the 18th, Brian's birthday was the next day. Where would he go to celebrate? Surely not to India. You say it's your birthday It's my birthday too, yeah They say it's your birthday We're gonna have a good time I'm glad it's your birthday Happy birthday to youWOW...I just noticed that song was recorded on September 18 1968

...here's a link to what may be useful information, although it seems to thwart any efforts to even cut n' paste... You can get around that by disabling active scripting in your browser. In Internet Explorer go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Custom Level -> Scripting There is a LOT of useful information there. Here's the entry you were talking about... 23rd: An article appeared in Punch magazine, in which Patrick Catlin described two of Paul's home movies [The Defeat Of The Dog, and The Next Spring Then]. He said: “They were not like ordinary people's home movies. There were over-exposures, double-exposures, blinding orange lights, quick cuts from professional wrestling to a crowded car-park to a close-up of a television weather map. There were long still shots of a grey cloudy sky and a wet, grey pavement, jumping Chinese ivory carvings and affectionate slow-motion studies of his sheepdog Martha and his cat. The accompanying music, on a record player, and faultlessly synchronized, was by the Modern Jazz Quartet and Bach.”I haven't heard of that before...I do wonder what all that was about!

And also, with JoJo's web page refernce, it all makes more sense. Cynthia and John were at opposite ends, with John's drug usage and wild tendencies; Cynthia did all she could and it was doomed as a marraige. And, she did go to Almeria. So, actually, most of the given official scenario makes much more sense. Although it was said at one point "Paul seemed to change the most", but in a later sentence, "but, actually, Paul didn't really change at all?" That's a tough wrangle! But, maybe it just means William didn't really change much once he was in the role......its all in what you are refering back to as you write, I guess. Meaning, the writing is "sleight of hand." A way to duck the question of Paul changing without addressing it directly.
