Athenais, could Frida Bocarra have any connection to any of this at all? Her recording dates are similar to Marissa's; she had tried come-back. Her career had been derailed. She died in, I think, '96, after a sustained respiratory illness. She was actually getting MUCH better, when she suddenly passed away....... Let's find out...here's a picture of her: from www.fridaboccara.com/fotos.htm

UHHHHHHHH NO! Sacrilidge! Never! Say you don't mean it! Not my Frida!
OK< I don't know what is up with her face and appearence. WH DOES she start out looking dowdy and middle aged in 1962 and get prettier and better as time goes on, till she looks almost like a Paula Abdul in the mid 1970's---this is strange I admit.
BUT--its is the same golden voice I love always. I have recordings that span the time---always the same big, rich, sonorous, ringing chest and mask tones that I dig.
Always one voice, never two. There is no alternate Frida timbre. Not to say she was limited, but a certain kind of singing was her forte, and she tended to stay with it.
1962? Bad hair, bad make-up, bad lens. Puffy skin.MAybe just bad hormones at 22........
1975? Got her weight, look, make-up, and choice of photographers, under control. Looking the Mediteranean beauty she was.
One lovely voice--I hear no others.
