Are these portraits a clue that a double was being prepared for Sylvie as early as 1965?
And so the finishing touches were made in 1966...
The clouds in the background seem dark and foreboding in the second portrait.

Seems an odd thing for a woman to have to see or tolerate, as if she needed a lot of "maintenance". Yes I agree about the dark clouds, and an artist's purpose is almost always to impart meaning, things like that are never meaningLESS!
