The year 1966 starts with greatest happiness that Sylvie could hope for. She waits for the baby that she and her husband wanted so much. She is secluded in the house of Loconville. It will be Sandra if it is a girl, David if it is a boy. At the same time she releases the album "There are two girls in me" which reflects the maturity of Sylvie.
IL Y A DEUX FILLES EN MOI
There are two girls in me
That which sings the joy
There are two girls in me
That which cries low
One says to me that you like me
But the other does not believe it
For both I have sorrow
There are two girls in me.
One known as: "I have chance
And for him, I have such an amount of love
That my heart will have confidence,
Awaiting its return
The other known as: "tomorrow perhaps,
It will not return to me
The house will be deserted,
The life will stop "
There are two girls in me
That which sings the joy
There are two girls in me
That which cries low
But their love is the same one
And both love only you
But their love is the same one
There are two girls in me
There are two girls in me

During her pregnancy, she continues to record some songs (of which "Mr. John B"), but rests mostly in her free time. It is a small David who is born on August 14 (at one day near like his mom). Johnny comes back purposely from his concert to Italy to be present.
When she starts again her activities in October, Sylvie goes on tour in Turkey entrusting David to his grandmother, death in her heart. On her return, she dedicates to him her new EP "Ballade for a smile". It is a sweet song which will leave curiously less traces than "King David", with the accents of brass band, which will come out 3 years later.
BALLADE POUR UN SOURIRE
I awaited you almost a whole year
And now you are there
If fragile still that I am afraid to move
When you fall asleep in my arms
We will spend much time
One close to the other to test
To include/understand us to love us
And soon you will see
The first flower as it will be pretty with your astonished glance
And I know already that after having gathered it you will come to give it to me
You will know the rain and the wind
And sunny mornings disappointments and friendship
And then one day will come
Where you will leave, without me to ask it since the life is thus
I will not be able to prevent myself from crying as you do it today
But it is enough for me while waiting to tone smile
To erase all the clouds of my thoughts
Who are only for you
I awaited you almost a whole year
And now you are there
I awaited you almost a whole year
And now you are there...
During the weeks which follow the birth of David, Johnny - most probably outdone by his new responsibilities - shies away from his role of father. Sylvie alone must take care of their son. Johnny even declared to the press to prefer to leave and have fun among friends. Things become worse when his wife announces her intention to divorce. When he learns the news, Johnny is surrounded by his friends. Already disturbed by his disputes with the tax department and its fall of popularity, he cracks. It is locked inside the bathroom and swallows barbiturates. He is transported urgently to the hospital. Sylvie there rejoins him in tears and will reconcile with him little time afterwards.
