Revolution 1
Planet 1: Mercury
Closest to the sun
The god Mercury (Hermes) served as messenger to his father Zeus.
He escorted the souls of the dead into the underworld.
Known for his great speed in flying: he is usually depicted with wings.
He invented the lyre, and gave it to Apollo...who in return gave him the Caduceus (today used as a medical emblem).
Mercury is the ruling planet of Gemini (the twins).
Revolution 9
Planet 9: Pluto
Furthest from the sun
Pluto (Hades) is the ruler of the dead.
When the universe was divided among the gods:
Zeus (Jupiter) got control of the land and the heavens. Poseidon (Neptune) got the seas.
Hades got stuck with the underworld.
Hades was never honored like his brothers.
His name is forbidden.
His existence bears no traces on the earth.
The helmet of invisibility that Hades wore may have actually belonged to Hermes.
Pluto is the ruling planet of Scorpio.
The eagle is a messenger of Pluto.
