Maybe Sylvie really did commit suicide if she was depressed from having to give up the child. Maybe Paul got in a scrap with Johnny Halliday and hence the so-called moped incident. I take it that it had to be kept secret that Syvlie was pregnant when she married Johnny because in those days there would've been too much of a scandal about it. If this had happened today, things would've been different. Sylvie would've been able to keep the baby even though it was coceived out of wedlock. Furthermore, Paul and Syvlie maybe been able to be together openly and publicy. Question: If they met and fell in love in January '64 (according to another thread), what would've been wrong with them having a public relationship? What was stopping them? surely Paul dumping Jane wouldn't have created a scandal. It was alright to drop girlfriends in those days wasn't it?

James Paul McCartney to EMI. Competitors in work.

I find it interesting idea that they both had "accidents" and look a likes reappeared taking the identity of the stars. Could it be possible that somewhere out there the real Paul and Sylvie are together, in their golden years, living as "nobodies" while Faul and Fylvie have lived their "public" lives? Away from the madness of fame and fortune into private lives with different names? Hmmmm

A nice enough sentiment, Rita. However, it's not a story with a happy ending like that. I wish it was. Paul & Sylvie died & were replaced. I know that Paul was murdered. I'm not at all sure how Sylvie died. Whatever it is that really happened to those people, it is an ABOMINATION. It was ALL FOR THE MONEY !

I know that they both are dead, but it would make for an interesting story though.
No, someone with that much influence and charisma is either working for the "System" or will fall into the "system" through mind control. They get swallowed up in it for a time, get chewed up and spit back out. Look at any legendary rock icon, they had that certain "something" and the System gets hold of them, uses them for their evil games and then does away with them. Unfortunately for Paul and Sylvie, they were two of the "beautiful" people who got digested by the System and are now no more.
It's sickening that this happens, but let's be realistic now.

".....released a few days later as the "fool on the hill" with no passports...and taken hostage again when he tried to return home with Brian....." i don't know what effect reading this [admittedly speculative] bit had on the others, but for me it served to heighten my disgust at the way the beatles carried on after paul was found. paul's replacement took the melody that became FOOL ON THE HILL [which i think john had a hand in composing] and then sung the lyrics we all know about his beatle predecessor....YUCK!!!! i mean, it's like ed gein wearing the faces of his victims. the image of the powers that be chewing and spitting out the "beautiful people" of their day is pretty accurate...only instead of the same people that were swallowed being spewed out again the establishment beast gives forth REPLACEMENTS....again, yuck. i really liked the interpetation of ELANOR RIGBY earlier in this thread....paul lamenting the fact that he was a father by syvie vartan but had to face the awful reality of losing both sylvie and the kid. no wonder james paul said he wasn't feeling well during their final tour dates....he never said he was physically ill, DID he?
