There is a military theme throughout MMT...why?
John looks up at a plane flying during "I am the Walrus". Was that plane shot down?

Outside the Wall (Waters) 1:42
All alone, or in two's, The ones who really love you Walk up and down outside the wall. Some hand in hand And some gathered together in bands. The bleeding hearts and artists Make their stand.
And when they've given you their all Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall.
"Isn't this where...."

Yes! thank you! And just as important (maybe more) is John's expression watching it.

Back in the USSR and Blackbird are both songs about flight. Putting it together: Back in the US SR (71) BlackbirdA spy plane? Brian Epstein was an MI5 agent. Intelligence services tried to recruit Brian as executor of their plans for The Beatles. Brian resisted plans to replace Paul with an impersonator. The penalty for refusing to remain silent was death.Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes
They say Spain is pretty though I've never been Well Daniel says it's the best place that he's ever seen Oh and he should know, he's been there enough Lord I miss Daniel, oh I miss him so much
Daniel my brother you are older than me Do you still feel the pain of the scars that won't heal Your eyes have died but you see more than I Daniel you're a star in the face of the sky
Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes Oh God it looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes

dkorunic.net/gallery/album03/Museum05?set_fullOnly=onThat spy plane was one seat. www.zolid.com/cirrus/books.htmMaybe it was a PIPER YELLOW CAB instead.... from: www.guardian.co.uk/weekend/story/0,3605,1177707,00.html "The reason for Kubrick's annoyance in this particular letter was because he'd heard that the Beatles were going to use a landscape shot from Dr Strangelove in one of their movies: "The Beatle film will be very widely seen," Kubrick writes, "and it will make it appear that the material in Dr Strangelove is stock footage. I feel this harms the film." Dr Strangelove plot: U.S. Air Force Colonel Jack Ripper goes completely and utterly mad, and sends his bomber wing to destroy the U.S.S.R. He suspects that the communists are conspiring to pollute the "precious bodily fluids" of the American people. The U.S. president meets with his advisors, where the Soviet ambassador tells him that if the U.S.S.R. is hit by nuclear weapons, it will trigger a "Doomsday Machine" which will destroy all plant and animal life on Earth. Peter Sellers portrays the three men who might avert this tragedy: British Group Captain Lionel Mandrake, the only person with access to the demented Gen. Ripper; U.S. President Merkin Muffley, whose best attempts to divert disaster depend on placating a drunken Soviet Permier and the former Nazi genius Dr. Strangelove, who concludes that "such a device would not be a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious". Will the bombers be stopped in time, or will General Jack Ripper succeed in destroying the world ?
Q: "Have you ever used or trained Beatle doubles as decoys on a..." RINGO: "No." JOHN: "No." PAUL: "We tried to get Brian Epstein to do it... he wouldn't do it." (laughter) Los Angeles August 28 1966 www.geocities.com/~beatleboy1/dbla66.pc.html"We tried to get Brian Epstein to do it"

I CAN REMEMBER (I remember) Standing by the wall (by the wall) And the guns shot above our heads (over our heads) And we kissed, as though nothing could fall (nothing could fall) And the shame was on the other side Oh we can beat them, for ever and ever Then we could be Heroes, just for one day
Brian Epstein, like Elton John's Daniel, loved taking trips to Spain.
Brian's trip to Spain with John stirred up a lot of questions about their relationship. I wonder if they returned there, did they go in secret?
PS...The actual vocal is "I can remember, standing by PAUL (by the wall)". Not hard to miss that one.
And this is another Bowie song that was most likely actually written by John Lennon...too personal for John to sing himself.

Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House
There is freedom within, there is freedom without Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost But you'll never see the end of the road While you're traveling with me
Hey now, hey now Don't dream it's over Hey now, hey now When the world comes in They come, they come To build a wall between us We know they won't win
Now I'm towing my car, there's a hole in the roof My possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof In the paper today tales of war and of waste But you turn right over to the T.V. page
Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart Only shadows ahead barely clearing the roof Get to know the feeling of liberation and relief
Hey now, hey now Don't dream it's over Hey now, hey now When the world comes in They come, they come To build a wall between us Don't ever let them win
