I just listen to Magical Mystery Tour, and this line struck me as odd from Fool On The Hill:
Day after day
Is this a reference to Lady Madonna and the days of the week? Wednesday morning's paper didn't come? Day after day it never came?

Was it about just TWO days of... waiting for ... an help? Yes it was. Day after day, no one found out about this.

Day After Day
One of Doris Day's signature songs.
The song from which Doris von Kappelhoff drew her stage name.
Covered en Francais by Poly-Vartan: "Jour Apres Jour."
Name of a song by Badfinger.
I think Fool on a Hill was written by JPM about DORIS DAY as a court jester, the Fool of the Tarot. A Tudor minstrel, if you will; albeit one of smoke and mirrors like Shake-speare.

Why not. Paul surely was capable of it. It's definitely NOT Johnny's style.

Wasn't the Badfinger song "Day After Day" written by Mc Cartney? Or was it "Come and Get It?" Either way, Faul had connected with the group, they were signed to Apple records. Day after day, alone on a hill -does this have to do with being isolated from the rest of the band? One has to wonder.

There have been alot of good points made over the past few years at the 60IF site. Some of them are concerning Bill's relationship with other band members. I rather doubt he had a very good relationship with them . At least, not with John & George. Initially, I'm sure that John thought it was cool that he was so versatile & able to impersonate Paul to a certain degree. They might've even had a bit of a "fling". However, I believe that love affair ended when Bill started questioning John's authority as leader of the band. I don't think that George ever accepted Bill as Paul's replacement. George & Paul were best mates. He knew that NOONE could ever REPLACE his friend. George kept his mouth shut & dealt with it, because he had no choice. I'm sure that TPTB behind this evil mess made sure that people knew what could "happen", if they opened their mouths the wrong way ! I'm pretty sure that people were murdered, to get this point across ! Ringo is in on it. He has been since the very beginning. Why else would he leave a band with a bigger name, to join an up & coming band ?!

You have me wondering about the Ringo statement being in on it. I will share my arguments. 1. Why replace Pete Best who was very popular and they felt was more attractive for the less attractive Ringo? 2. Why is Ringo still here? He wasn't replaced and he's still alive?
I'm not sure if my memory serves me correct or not, but was Pete Best a better drummer? Or perhaps Pete was not a willing participant in the "program"?
Just a curiosity.

I remember reading that Pete Best was extremely popular with the girls, far more so than Paul or John. Were they jealous? I also remember reading (though my memory could be faulty) that, rather ironically, Pete was ousted for being too much a troublemaker doing objectionale things like taking drugs. There have been reports that Ringo was a better drummer and Pete not so good; however perhaps this is history rewritten?

You know, nothing would surprise me if they tried to re write the story, being so long since they first come on the scene, they figure most people would have long forgotten or have lost interest. For the new fans would be getting this Faux history. Pete Best was the better drummer, remember Ringo had to have a stand in drummer Jimmy NIchol to help because Ringo really wasn't that great. I do remember watching videos of biographies of the Beatles and even George Martin said that Pete was a better drummer, but something about attitude or something. So I may be aging, but the brain still recalls some material.

Pete was the better drummer. He did take drugs. As you stated that is laughable, since before very long so did the rest of them So what was gained ? They replaced a member of the group with an outsider who would do the bidding of TPTB The fact that Pete was the cutest really had no bearing on it at all. Ringo had more than his share of screaming adoring fans ! They were a mind-control operation all along. The sad thing is, the boys didn't have a clue. I'm sure if they had found out, they would've taken off for parts unknown. Maybe then, they'd still be alive & happy today
